General Terms and Conditions

Section 1: DEFINITIONS:

The head-notes to the clauses of these Terms and Conditions are for reference purposes only and shall in no way govern or affect the interpretation of nor modify nor amplify these Terms and Conditions nor any clause hereof.

Unless the context dictates otherwise, the words and expressions set forth below shall bear the following meanings and cognate expressions shall bear corresponding meanings:

  1. Vodafone refers to Mobile Broadband Zambia trading as Vodafone Zambia.
  2. Promoters refers to Vodafone Zambia who will be running this promotion.
  3. The App refer to My Vodafone Zambia Application.
  4. WSC refer to Web Self-Care (website for self-service for Vodafone Zambia Customers).
  5. Legal costs mean costs on an attorney and own client scale.
  6. Party means any one of the Parties to this Agreement. The term “Parties” shall have a corresponding meaning;

Section 2: DEFINITIONS:

  1. No Party shall be bound by or have any claim or right of action arising from any express or implied term, undertaking, representation, warranty, promise or the like not included or recorded in this document whether it induced the contract and/or whether it was negligent or not.
  2. If any term or provision of these Terms and Conditions should be invalid, unenforceable, defective or illegal for any reason whatsoever, then the remaining terms and provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to be severable therefrom and shall continue in full force and effect unless such invalidity, unenforceability, defect or illegality goes to the root of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. These Terms and Conditions shall be binding on and enforceable by the estates, heirs, executors, administrators, trustees, permitted assigns or liquidators of the Parties as fully and effectually as if they had signed these Terms and Conditions in the first instance and reference to any Party shall be deemed to include such Party’s estate, heirs, executors, administrators, trustees, permitted assigns or liquidators, as the case may be.
  4. Vodafone takes reasonable steps to ensure that the Secure Areas and/or ICT platforms in use for this promotion cannot be accessed by unauthorised persons and that authorized users have access only to those portions of the Secure Area which they are entitled to access. Vodafone cannot, and does not, however, warrant that no unauthorised person will be able to gain access to the Secure Area or to a portion of the Secure Area to which they are not entitled to have access. Accordingly, Vodafone shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claims, costs or penalties arising from unauthorised access to the Secure Area or any portion thereof or the interception, monitoring, modification or other interference with communications between the User and Vodafone.

Products and Promotions Terms and Conditions:

10GB FREE

  • All New customers qualify for this offer.
  • Customers will receive 10GB FREE valid for 7days.
  • Customers will have to log into MyVodafone to claim FREE 10GB
  • 10GB cannot be shared
  • 10GB will be in bonus account.
  • To extend FREE data customer will have to buy bundle eligible for bonus.
  • Only new customers will receive FREE 10GB
  • Existing customers who buy this offer will not receive any FREE data.
  • Customer can only claim offer once.
  • Offer will run till 1st June
  • The K10 SIM with 100MB is still available for existing customers who would like to have a SIM replacement or new customers who insist on buying it.

Elevate Your 4G

  1. We will have 3 daily, 2 weekly and 8 monthly bundles.
  2. The monthly bundles will replace all the current tariffs during the promotional period.
  3. There will be no data add-ons on the promotional bundles.
  4. For G will still be available for purchase for customers that are eligible.
  5. All bundles will come with FREE WhatsApp with validity equal to that of the bundle

#Social Add-Ons (Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter)

  1. This is a limited time promotion for all Vodafone customers that will award FREE Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat (SIT) valid for 30 days on purchase of the first monthly bundle in each 30-day cycle.
  2. Where a customer buys a monthly bundle after purchasing any of the Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter Add-ons with a 7 days validity, the promotion 30-day SIM will take precedence.
  3. Social Add-ons of the same type are mutually exclusive. You may not buy two of the same social add-on concurrently.
  4. Social Add-ons do not allocate data volume as they are volume based bundles.
  5. Social Add-ons are not transferable.
  6. The validity of the social add-on is independent of the validity for any primary bundle, hence purchase of a social add-on does not extend the validity of a primary bundle.
  7. Twitter usage is capped at  100MB per day. All usage beyond 100MB is billed at the standard rates.
  8. Add-on bundles of the same type are mutually exclusive, customers can buy only one of the same type at a time.
  9. This promotion will run for an initial 90 days period, however, Vodafone reserves the right to pull off the promotion before the 90 days period or extend past the said period.

#SummaLevels (Win a Trip to Cape Town)

  1. Customers who qualify for this promotion will receive an SMS with a daily usage target.
  2. To qualify to participate in the weekly draw, the customer must meet their daily target at least once.
  3. All entries into the weekly draws will be considered for the grand draw which will take place at the end of the promotion.
  4. 1 lucky participant will win a family weekend trip to Cape Town, the trip will cover two adults and 2 minors (children).
  5. Grand Prize will cover Air Travel for 2 adults and 2 children, accommodation, stipend but will not cover in country ground travel.
  6. There will also be 2 winners of Weekend trip to Siavonga for two.
  7. Siavonga prize will cover ground travel to and from Lusaka or Ndola or Kitwe, Accommodation and daily stipend.
  8. There will be a total of 5 winners of Dinner Vouchers per week.

  18. Vodafone reserves the right to extend the promotional period.
  19. Employees and immediate family of Vodafone, Vodafone’s partners and vendors are not eligible to participate in this promotion.
  20. This promotion is eligible for ages 18 and above.
  21. Customers who qualify to win should either be Zambian citizens or should have resided in Zambia for at least 12 months.
  22. Vodafone shall conduct weekly draws as provided in 11 above and the winners of the prizes shall be assessed in accordance with an automated random draw.
  23. The winners of these prizes shall be announced and posted on Facebook or other platforms as Vodafone will deem fit
  24. By accepting prizes in this promotion, winners accept to have their names and or images used by Vodafone on communication in relations to the promotion.

Surf ‘n Win

  1. Customers who qualify for this promotion will receive and SMS with a daily usage target.
  2. To qualify to participate in the weekly draw, the customer must meet their daily target at least once.
  3. There will be a total of 30 winners per week.
  4. There will be 120 winners of K500 vouchers that are redeemable at Shoprite.
  5. Draws will be conducted every week.
  6. Points accumulated will only be valid for each week draw.
  7. Prizes will be given at HQ in Lusaka, Kafubu Mall in Ndola and Mukuba Mall in Kitwe.
  8. Vouchers are redeemable 30 days from time of notice.
  9. Winners who are not reachable on provided contact number will forfeit their prize.
  10. Rewards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  11. All prizes must be claimed within 30 days from the day that the customer is informed.
  12. Customers who do not claim their rewards within 30 days will forfeit them.
  13. The promotion will run for four (4) weeks from date of launch.
  14. Vodafone reserves the right to extend the promotional period stated in 13 above.
  15. Employees and immediate family of Vodafone, Vodafone’s partners and vendors are not eligible to participate in this promotion.

K1 Device

  1. This promotion is the Promoter’s way of celebrating its first anniversary and will award some customers with an opportunity to buy a device at a special discount of ZMW1 (One Kwacha).
  2. This promotion is open to current and prospective Vodafone customers
  3. To take part in this promotion, interested persons should pre-order a device of their choice on a portal that will be accessible online.
  4. For customers who join Vodafone on the 10th but did not pre-order, they too will be considered.
  5. Non-pre-order customers who qualify for the discount will be notified after the 10th of June, 2017.
  6. Non-pre-order customers who qualify will be given the difference between the amount paid for the device and K1 in form of Vodafone airtime.
  7. All customers whether they pre-ordered or not will qualify to get a blue tooth speaker if they buy any device and SIM card.
  8. Based on a random selection logic, some pre-orders will be eligible to pay one (1) Kwacha for their pre-ordered device.
  9. The promoter reserves the right to determine the logic to be used to select the lucky customers who will be eligible to pay the discounted rate.
  10. All other participants may proceed to pay for their pre-order at the standard price with the existing new joiners benefits.
  11. To claim their ZMW1 device the lucky customers must visit any Vodafone store on the 10th of June 2017, failure to do so, they will forfeit their claim to the ZMW1 device.
  12. Lucky customers eligible for the discount will not be allowed to change the device at the point of sale, they may only buy the pre-ordered device at a discount.
  13. The promoter reserves the right to extend the promotional period.
  14. This offer will only be available in Vodafone owned stores.
  15. Employees and immediate family of Vodafone, Vodafone’s partners and vendors are not eligible to participate in this promotion.

Member get Member

  1. This promotion is open to existing customers who receive a call to participate through email or SMS.
  2. To Participate, customers must enter details of their friends and family who are not yet Vodafone customers.
  3. Each participant must invite three (3) friends.
  4. The invited friends will receive and SMS encouraging them to join Vodafone.
  5. Once all three (3) invited friends join Vodafone, the customers who invited them will be entitled to either a Tecno N8R device and a Data SIM or 50GB Data bundle valid for 30 days.
  6. The invited prospective customers must buy a device and a SIM card to be considered as having joined Vodafone. Purchase of SIM card alone will not be considered in this promotion.
  7. Customers who qualify for the reward will be contacted through SMS with a special claim code which they must present at any Vodafone store.
  8. Customers who invite friends must ensure that their invited friends join Vodafone no later than 30th June to qualify for the reward.
  9. Rewards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  10. All rewards must be claimed within 30 days from the day that Vodafone sends out the claim SMS.
  11. Customers who do not claim their rewards within 30 days will forfeit them.
  12. The promotion will run until 30th June 2017
  13. Vodafone reserves the right to extend the promotional period stated in 9 above.
  14. Employees and immediate family of Vodafone, Vodafone’s partners and vendors are eligible to participate in this promotion.

Data 365

  1. To participate, customers must recharge their Vodafone account using their credit or debit cards in the Vodafone mobile application or web self-care.
  2. The winner will get one (1) year monthly allocation of data bonus.
  3. Participants will earn entries into the draw based on the top-up amount as in the grid below:

  8. The draws will be audited by and independent auditor.
  9. Prizes that are won will not be exchangeable for cash or any other benefits.
  10. Winners will be contacted through telephone calls, where Vodafone fails to reach the winners on three attempts of calling. The prize will be forfeited to the second runner up.
  11. Winners names and Vodafone account numbers will be published on social media, print media and radio.
  12. By participating in the promotion, the customer consents to have their image, audio recording of the call of notification of winning, name and Vodafone account number published on Social media, Radio and print media.
  13. Entries into the draw do not have monetary value and cannot be used to claim any benefit other than participation in the draw.
  14. The promotion will be run for a period not greater than 13 weeks from date of launch.
  15. Vodafone reserves the right to extend the promotional period stated in 14 above.
  16. Employees and immediate family of Vodafone, Vodafone’s partners and vendors are not eligible to participate in this promotion.

Big50:

  1. This promotion is open to all new Vodafone Customers who join from launch date until close of the promotion.
  2. Existing customers too can participate in this promotion by buying any of the main Vodafone monthly bundles.
  3. There will be one (1) winner of a car in the grand draw that will be held at the end of the promotion
  4. There will be eight (8) weekly lucky winners of a Samsung Smart TV that is coupled with a Router and 10GB data valid for 30 days.
  5. There will be five (5) weekly winners of Samsung S7 Flat Smart Phone with 10GB data valid for 30 days.
  6. There will be five (5) weekly winners of Huawei T1 Tablet with 10GB data valid for 30 days.
  7. The daily draw will include both customers who joined Vodafone during the promotional period and existing customers that bought a monthly data bundle.

  1. This promotion is open to all new Vodafone Customers who join from launch date until close of the promotion.
  2. Eligible customers will be awarded 50% bonus for the first bundle that is 2GB or more that is bought in the first 3 months from joining Vodafone.
  3. The bonus will be valid for a period of 30 days, where the customer does not use up their Data bonus within this validity, the customer will forfeit the bonus upon expiry.
  4. The bonus allocated in this promotion cannot be shared.
  5. Bonus will be granted only for purchase of main Vodafone bundles, this means that purchase of Add-on bundles, Social Add-ons or any other promotional or discounted bundles will bot attract this bonus.
  6. Bonus given in the first month will be allocated in the main data wallet and bonus allocated in the subsequent two months will be given to a dedicated bonus wallet.
  7. A customer who does not buy 2GB or more in the first 30 days of joining will not get bonus in the subsequent months even after buying the eligible bundles.
  8. The promotion will be run for a period not greater than 30 days from date of launch.
  9. Vodafone reserves the right to extend the promotional period stated in 7 above.

Vodafone Wi-Fi

  1. A contact number and Wi-Fi passcode will be required to log into the Wi-Fi hotspot in order to use our WiFi service.
  2. Vodafone needs to be selected from the drop down list of service providers on the landing page, the contact number and Wi-Fi passcode can then be used to log in.
  3. Vodafone WiFi is available in select areas that are outlined on our corporate website
  4. Bundles must be used within validity time. They may not be carried forward into a different validity. If validity expires, customer will be required to renew subscription. To extend the validity, you’ll need to purchase a bundle with a validity greater than your existing bundle.
  5. Failure to deplete the bundle within validity will result in forfeiture of the bundle.

Vodafone WiFi only Customers

  1. New Customers will receive 50MB freebie valid for 6 hours, the freebie is not given to Vodafone customers with a registered Sim.
  2. The Freebie is once off and cannot be claimed more than once.
  3. To claim the freebie, the new customer will need to register with a valid contact number.
  4. All Vodafone Wi-Fi only customers cannot share/receive data from other customers.
  5. WiFi only customers who transition to SIM customers cannot transfer their Wi-Fi account to their Main Account

Vodafone LTE customers

  1. All Vodafone LTE customers will consume data from their main account.
  2. Vodafone LTE customers will need to log-in to access WiFi.
  3. Vodafone LTE customers will not receive 50MB freebie, as they are not classified as new customers.
  4. All Vodafone terms and conditions for bundles apply.

My Student Life:

  • This promotion is open to new Vodafone Customers who are students.
  • The customer should have a Valid Student ID, Acceptance letter to the institution or Letter from the school authorities verifying that they are a student.
  • Retail/Brand Ambassadors staff should keep a copy of the document provided as proof.
  • To qualify customer should buy any device (minimum of a MiFi)
  • Student who join Vodafone and do not buy any device do not qualify for this offer
  • The customer will receive 1GB  upon Joining without making any purchase.
  • The customer will receive 1GB every month after purchase of any monthly bundle for consecutive 5 months after joining
  • New month begins on month of joining and ends on month date of joining.
  • Offer will only be available in universities or any locations that may be holding student functions or potential student customers (Upon request)
  • The 1GB will be credited to a bonus account.
  • The 1GB allocated in this promotion cannot be shared.
  • The 1GB will be valid for 30 days.
  • The 1GB may accumulate and validity extended when the customer buys bundles that qualify for bonus and validity greater than the
  • Purchase of FOR G offer, Add-on bundles or other discounted bundles will not attract bonus allocation.

2wice As Nice:

  1. This promotion shall award 100% Data bonus to new customers who buy 2GB or more for the first time within the first 30 days of joining Vodafone.
  2. Bonus will be given only for the first purchase of 2GB or more within the first 30 days
  3. Bonus data will be valid for 30 days after which the balance will be forfeited if the customer does not buy another bundle with a longer validity.
  4. All the prevailing Vodafone Data bundle terms and conditions will apply to the usage and forfeiture of the Data bonus allocated in this promotion.
  5. This promotion is open to Vodafone new customers who join on or after the launch date for a period of 60 days
  6. The new customer will only be awarded 100% bonus data once for the first data bundle that they purchase which if equal to or greater than 2GB.
  7. Participating in the promotion implies that you fully understand the rules and therefore, you agree to indemnify the promoter for any loss or damage you suffered because you took part in this competition or used the bonus. If you participate, or use or accept the bonus, you understand that you do so of your own free will. This means that you cannot hold the promoter legally responsible for any loss or damage or legal expenses you suffered because you took part in this promotion or accepted the bonus there of.
  8. The promoter reserves the right to change the rules of the promotion. The promoter can change the rules of the promotion throughout the duration of the promotion. For convenience only, the date on which these rules were last amended will be shown below the heading. It is your responsibility to check the rules for amendments.
  9. The clauses in these rules are severable. This means that if any clause in these rules is found to be unlawful, it will be removed and the remaining clauses will still apply.

10 Over 10:

  1. The 10 Over 10 promotion is open to Vodafone Customers who purchase a 10GB bundle or more.
  2. The bonus will be credited to a bonus account.
  3. The bonus will be valid for a period of 7 days, where the customer does not use up their Data bonus within this validity, the customer will forfeit the bonus upon expiry.
  4. The bonus allocated in this promotion cannot be shared.
  5. Bonus may accumulate and validity extended when the customer buys more than one 10GB or more bundle.
  6. Bonus will be given for purchase of main bundles and not offer bundles such as FOR G offer.
  7. Bonus accounts will all be cleared 7 days after the promotion comes to an end.
  8. The promotion will be run for a period not greater than 60 days from date of launch.

Extra Buck (Debit and Credit Card Recharge promotion):

Unless the context dictates otherwise, the words and expressions set forth below shall bear the following meanings and cognate expressions shall bear corresponding meanings:

  1. User who tops-up their Vodafone account using their credit or debit card through either My Vodafone Application or Web Self-Care will be awarded bonus airtime as may be determined from time to time.
  2. User who tops-up with equal to or greater than ZMW 300.00 will get 20% of their recharge amount.
  3. User who recharges with less than ZMW 300.00 will get 10% of their recharge amount as their bonus.
  4. This offer will be available to Vodafone Zambia prepaid and hybrid customers/user.
  5. Credit Card or Debit Card top-ups done over the counter will not qualify for bonus.
  6. All top-ups done using other channels other than credit and debit cards through the App or WSC will not attract any bonus.
  7. The promotion will be run for 30 days from date of launch.
  8. By voluntarily undertaking participation in this promotion, the user agrees to indemnify the promoter fully for any loss or damage the promoter may suffer if in breach of any of the competition rules. This means you agree to reimburse the promoter for the following:
  •     any loss or damage they suffer;
  •     any expenses and costs they paid or are responsible for; and
  •     legal costs.

Radio Lucky Draw:

  1. This offer is open to customers who join Vodafone from 18th July 2017.
  2. Draw will be randomly drawn using a web based application.
  3. Daily draw participants will be customers who joined Vodafone the previous day.
  4. Daily lucky draw winners will win 5GB Vodafone monthly Data bundle.
  5. There will be a total of 4 daily winners of 5GB Vodafone monthly Data bundle.
  6. The weekly draw will include all customers who joined Vodafone in the week prior to the draw.
  7. There will be 4 lucky winners in the weekly draw.
  8. Weekly draw winners will win Huawei Y6.
  9. Lucky winners will be announced on the following radio stations:
  • Flava FM
  • Hot FM
  • Radio 4
  • Rock FM
  1. Winners will collect their prizes at any of the following locations:
    • Lusaka, at Vodafone Head Office on 257 Kaleya Road Roma.
    • Kitwe; Vodafone Store at Mukuba Mall
    • Ndola; Vodafone Store at Kafubu Mall
  2. To claim the prize, the winner must present formal identification document such as NRC, Driver’s License or Passport.
  3. Prizes cannot be exchanged for money.
  4. Vodafone will not be held liable for transportation of lodging costs of winners who have to travel to claim their prizes.
  5. Prizes have to be claimed before 31st August 2016, failure to claim the prize by this date will result in the prize being forfeited.
  6. The draw will run for a period of 3 weeks.
  7. Vodafone reserves the right to revise the dates given in terms and conditions.

 

PayGo and Data Bundles:

  • Pay as you go rate (PayGo) is the charge that is levied for usage of Vodafone services out of bundle.
  • Data PayGo rate is K1 per MB
  • Customers Data sessions will be terminated when they deplete their Data bundle before proceeding with PayGo charging.
  • The customer will give consent to proceed with PayGo charging.
  • Vodafone reserves the right to remove or change the data bundles that it offers to its customers.
  • Daily bundles will be valid for a complete 24-hour cycle, weekly bundles will be valid for 7 days and monthly bundles for 30 days.
  • Bundles will expire upon end of validity as stated in six (6) above. Upon expiry, all the data or voice balance that may have remained in the customer’s bundle account will be forfeited.
  • Customers can purchase bundles that have volume higher than your current bundle balance.
  • Add-on bundles will be available to customers who have a valid main Data bundle.
  • Purchase of an add-on Data bundle will not alter the validity of a current main Data bundle.
  • Data Bundles for customers who select automatic renewal will be automatically purchased on expiration.
  • Social bundles can only be used for the specific usage for which they are intended. For example, you may not use Facebook bundle for YouTube.

 

Multiple Data SIMs:

  • Multi Data SIM(s) are available to all Vodafone customers.
  • The primary SIM card is the SIM card that will be used as the main account.
  • The Data SIM cards are additional cards that will be linked to the main account on the primary SIM card.
  • The Data SIM cannot be allocated Airtime or Data bundles. They will, however, use data from the primary SIM card.
  • Data usage on the Multi SIMs will be charged at the prevailing rates on the primary SIM card. If the primary SIM card has an active bundle, the Data SIM cards’ usage will be from the primary SIM cards Data bundle. The same will apply for PAYGO billing.
  • A customer can have a maximum of two (2) Data SIM cards.
  • A monthly subscription fee may be charged for each Data SIM card.
  • A subscription to a Multi Data SIM in no way affects the current price plan’s terms & conditions in respect of validity, balance transfers, out-of-bundle usage and consumption rules.
  • The customer must have a compatible data device to be able to use a Data SIM to enable them to use our services.
  • If the primary SIM card is deactivated, all linked Multi Data SIMs will be automatically de-activated.
  • Customer may disconnect their Data SIM from the primary account by calling our Contact Center or going to our Service centers.
  • The owner of the primary contract price plan on which Multi Data SIM/s is active, is liable for any Data usage costs that arises as a result of the following:
  • Normal Data usage.
    – Anti-virus or spyware updates.
    – Data used after theft of modem and/ or SIM card.
    – Charges from Data international roaming.
    – Over utilization of Data by all SIM cards.

 

MyVodafone App and Web Self-Care:

  • My Vodafone App usage will be available to customers on relevant application stores, i.e. Google Playstore and Apple iTunes.
  • Web-Self Care is available on our corporate website: www.vodafone.zm
  • Vodafone reserves that right to effect down times to allow for maintenance and updates on both the My Vodafone App and the web self-care.
  • My Vodafone App and Web-Self Care may be used for top-up, bundle purchase and balance inquiry for pre-paid customers.
  • My Vodafone App and Web-Self Care login PIN will be sent to the customer upon request.
  • Vodafone will not be responsible for usage of MyVodafone App and Web-Self Care by third parties.
  • All activity on the MyVodafone App and Web-Self Care will be considered as generated by the customer

The following Terms and Conditions contain assumptions of risk and/or liability by you and limit and exclude liabilities, obligations and legal responsibilities which Vodafone Zambia will have towards you and other persons. The “My Vodafone Zambia” App/Web Self-Care is a user-friendly App/Web that allows users to do the following;

  • Check your credit balance.
  • View your current data bundle balance.
  • Check your payment history.
  • View usage history.
  • Top Up using debit or Credit card.
  • Transfer credit and data bundles.
  • Buy bundles and offers.
  • Search and find a Vodafone Zambia store near to you.
  • Check your profile details.
  • Check how much data you’ve used, the balance you’ve left and buy Add-ons and when they renew.
  • Settings that provide options of channels that customer would like to be contacted by Vodafone Zambia and channel to receipt Invoice.

  1. What type of device can be used to access “My Vodafone” App/Web Self-Care?

My Vodafone Zambia App is not available on all mobile operating systems. Vodafone Zambia Users will be able to download My Vodafone Zambia App software/application on Apple iOS and Android devices. Users that are using any other devices other than the above mentioned i.e. Windows, can access the web self-care using the URL https://myVodafone Zambia.Vodafone Zambia.zm/#/.

  1. How do I download and install My Vodafone Zambia App?

Android Devices

  • Go to Google Play Store, search for ‘My Vodafone Zambia’ and select ‘Install.’
  • Click on ‘Download’ then ‘Accept & download.’
  • When download is completed, click on ‘Install’ then ‘Open.’

Apple iOS

  • Go to Apple store, search for “My Vodafone Zambia” and select ‘Get.’
  • Click ‘install’ and then ‘Approve.’
  • When download is completed, click on ‘open.’

 4. How do I register once App is installed?

 A registered Vodafone Zambia user will not be required to re-register, by virtue of registering your number with Vodafone Zambia your number is automatically registered to the service. The following steps are to be followed in order for you to access the App;

  • Ensure that the Country code on the login page is correct.
  • Enter the contact number you registered to your Vodafone account.
  • Click ‘Do not have a confirmation code? Send’ this code will be sent to the registered number.
  • Click the option ‘log in.’
  • You might want to click the option ‘quick tour’ before you log in, on how to log in and how to use the App after you log in.
  • In the event that the App logs you out, you can still use the same ‘Confirmation code’ you received as long as you do not request for a new one.

 5. Will I get charged when using the App/Web Self-Care?

  • My Vodafone Zambia App/Web Self Care is zero rated, which means there shall be no charges on the use of this App but there shall be a charge on links within the app.
  • All charges / free of charge usage specified, shall be for local use within Zambia on the Vodafone Zambia network.
  • For roaming subscribers roaming additional charges will apply.
  • Roaming data rates will apply when used from outside Zambia
  1. Governing Law

To the extent that the Terms and Conditions provided under the Terms and Conditions are governed by the Competition and Consumer Protection Act No 24 of 2010 (the “Competition Consumer Protection Act”). No provision of the Terms is intended to contravene the applicable provisions of the Competition Consumer Protection Act, therefore all provisions of the Terms and Conditions must be treated as being qualified, to the extent necessary, to ensure that the applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act are complied with.

  1. Liabilities

Vodafone Zambia shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, the expense or damage of any kind whatsoever, howsoever arising suffered or incurred by any person who accesses, downloads or uses this My Vodafone Zambia App Self-Service Application (the “User”) or uses any services offered via this software/application, or mobile website or relies on any information provided via this application or mobile website, including but not limited to:

  • Errors or discrepancies in the information provided;
  • Any unauthorised access of this software/application or website by third parties;
  • Any breakdown or failure of any equipment or medium of access to this application or website;
  • Any failure or unavailability of any of Vodafone Zambia’s or any third parties’ facilities or systems resulting in the inability to access this software/Application, mobile or website or process any transaction referred to or offered via this application on mobile or website;
  • Any alteration, modification, upgrade or update of this software/application or mobile website or any technology, hardware or software/application modification that may form part of this application, or mobile website.

The User agrees that Vodafone Zambia shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, expense or damage of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred by the User due to the delay of data being sent and received or any data that may be lost, as the User is aware that the prevailing data transfer technologies are of such a nature that data may be delayed or lost due to reasons beyond the control of Vodafone Zambia. Causes of such delay may include but not necessarily be limited to:

  • The time of day the User will be receiving or sending such data;
  • The speed at which the data is sent or received;
  • The weather and area;
  • The type of device/s used to transfer such data; or
  • The number of Users on a particular network at a location at any particular time.
  1. Conditions for top ups using a Credit or Debit Card?

Top up via Credit or debit card via App /web self-care Credit reversals are subject to Terms and conditions from the Bank.

All payments either via App/ Web self-care are subject to the following conditions: –

  • It is important that care is taken when using the online facility to ensure that you provide the correct information. To facilitate this, the payment system requests that you confirm correctness of data prior to proceeding to the next step. Your credit or debit card will be debited once payment is approved.
  • Vodafone Zambia cannot accept liability for a payment not reaching Vodafone Zambia due to you quoting incorrect card details or personal details or invoice number. Neither can we accept liability if payment is refused or declined by the credit/debit card supplier for any reason.
  1. Customer Refunds

In the event that you should experience faults that occur directly as a result of Vodafone Zambia’s inability to carry out an agreed service (such as in the event of unforeseen service interruptions), refunds may be requested.

Requests for refunds must be made over the phone, by e-mail or in the client area within 48 hours’ of disruption of service. Refunds can only be requested by the registered account holder, and will be reviewed and advised on a case by case basis.

  • A Customer may make a claim for a refund based on the type of service/ product not received.
  • A Customer will receive an email /SMS to confirm refund.

Reversals

In the event that you use your debit or credit card to purchase credit, be advised that these transactions shall be none reversible.

Vodafone Zambia shall not reverse your transaction if;

  • In the event that you transfer data.
  • In the event that you transfer credit.
  • In the event that you purchase a bundle or offer.

Vodafone Zambia will only make reversal if this is as a result of a technical challenge experienced by Vodafone Zambia.

  1. Security
  • All payment details which are entered through this secure payment gateway are encrypted when you, or the third party making payment, enters them. Communications to and from the service provider’s site are encrypted. Vodafone Zambia shall not be liable for any failure by you or the third party making payment of fees to a protected data, from being seen on their screen by other persons or otherwise obtained by such persons. During the online payment process or in respect of any omission to provide accurate information in the course of the online payment process.
  • The User hereby indemnifies Vodafone Zambia against any demand, claim or action against Vodafone Zambia relating to or in connection with the User’s use or accessing of this software/application or website whether directly or indirectly for any reason whatsoever.
  • Your payment card will be debited for your order only at the time the order is placed. Details of the cards captured are not shared with any third party nor are they used for any other transactions
  • Vodafone Zambia reserves the right in its absolute discretion to alter, modify, upgrade, update, suspend or withdraw this software/application or mobile website or any part hereof at any time. Unless expressly stated to the contrary Vodafone Zambia owns the intellectual property rights in and to this software/application or website and the unauthorised use thereof is expressly prohibited.
  • When running the application for the first time, the User might experience a few actions to determine what type of connection they have present and to authorize their use of the application.
  • If User is accessing the App/Web self-care and has been detected using a Wi-Fi connection or has a data connection, they would be requested to enter the number they used to register their Sim card and login code. Login code if not known, can be requested from the App or web self-care.
  • Access of Device with App to a third party will result in Third party access to Vodafone Zambia account, third party will be able to access all account details. Note that if third party has access to the device with confirmation code, they can access an authentication code to the device that has the number entered in the login screen.
  • Vodafone Zambia will not be responsible and cautions the User that there may be a discrepancy in any amounts shown via this software, modem or website. This will apply on charges on the usage history.
  • If Accept is chosen on the requested device, Vodafone Zambia will proceed with the login and show the balances and all other account info to the User.
  • Use of this software/application is subject to these Terms and Conditions. In so far as it is necessary, required by law or beyond the reasonable control of Vodafone Zambia, Vodafone Zambia reserves the right to vary the nature of the software/application or these Terms and Conditions, or cancel this software/application upon notice in this regard being published on http://www.Vodafone Zambia.zm/terms-conditions/ or in another appropriate medium.
  1. PayGo Feature
  • PayGo feature on the App once enabled will stop a browsing session if user’s bundle finishes;
  • Once the Enabled feature is selected using the App, User will be charged from main balance when bundle finishes.
  • Or Prompt message to enable or disable PayGO.
  1. Real Time

Vodafone Zambia does not guarantee continuous real-time provisioning of the software/application or mobile website or any other systems and shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss, expense or damage of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred by the User due to such lack of real-time provisioning.

  1. Disclaimer
  • Vodafone Zambia will in no event be liable for lost or interrupted data, messages, packets, or other information transmitted to or from third party networks, if the loss or interruption takes outside of the Vodafone Zambia Network.
  • Vodafone Zambia reserves the right to vary or amend any pricing or charges relating to this software/application.
  1. General
  • All Customers indemnify Vodafone Zambia and their directors, officers, employees and agents, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever.
  • Vodafone Zambia reserves the right, at any time, to change these Terms and Conditions and any rules relating to its products and services, and to modify its products and services at its discretion.
  • Vodafone Zambia reserves the right at any time to modify, suspend or discontinue the services with notice, without liability to you or any third party.
